IPL Auctions are always the most thrilling spectacle to watch, it is the place where all the teams assemble and form the winning squads. Now as we are moving close to the 17th edition of IPL in 2024, Auctions are all set to be held on 19th December 2023 at Coca Cola Arena, Dubai. It will witness a higher purse stakes as well as the most calculated moves on bidding on players. Each team from all the 10 teams will try to make the blend of the bestest players by their recent performances and also try new players for an element of surprise. IPL 2024 Auctions will be the best show to end the year and to witness the most sharp and clever moves by franchises and their management.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK):
Last edition’s champions, Chennai are all set for the auctions as they have the best Captain of Cricket, MS Dhoni and many new and famous faces. CSK had an unforgettable year as they won the title after finishing ninth in the previous edition. The team is known for their consistency and great team management. They had invested in young talents, as they followed the philosophy of blending youth with experience. This year they may invest in all-rounders and to add depth in the bowling line-up.
Mumbai Indians (MI):
The most successful team of the Indian Premier League led by none other than Rohit Sharma. The five time champions are all set to get in the auctions this time with an unique mindset of setting the team to lift their fifth title. MI aims to power-up their bowling line-up and power-hitting players. They move very strategically to invest in young talent to maintain a balance in the team of experience and youth brigade.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB):
RCB have the most loyal fan base of the IPL as they are being supported by so many fans without even winning a single edition. They have the most famous and best players of the game yet they fail to become the champion every year. This year to hold their maiden title, the team management are focusing on getting the best all-rounders and bowlers to complement their most explosive batting unit led by Faf Du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR):
KKR are well known for their aggressive and strategic gameplay. KKR failed to focus on the balance between defending the target and chasing the target. They should try acquiring some consistent batters and bowlers, to not shuffle the team line-up in every match. Kolkata may also think to invest in all-rounders as their experienced ones didn’t perform throughout the edition.
Rajasthan Royals (RR):
RR has always invested in getting the best out of the young and new talents. They strongly hold on to their strategy of investing in the best domestic and worldwide players. Rajasthan sought players who can mould themselves in various conditions and can excel in the unfavourable conditions. This team is led by the most under-rated cricketer of India, Sanju Samson, as he boosts players to complement the ethos of fearless cricket.
Delhi Capitals (DC):
Delhi Capitals had faced a major setback of a ruled out captain before IPL 2023 started, and they somehow failed this season to finish in ninth position. Their batting line-up failed in most of the matches and there was no support to the experienced batsman, David Warner. They should focus on their Middle order strength and other than this the team was fully established and best as their bowlers were performing the best throughout the season.
Gujarat Titans (GT):
GT had their another best season as they won their maiden title in 2022, but failed to win the last edition of IPL in a very close match against CSK. The team is a well-rounded squad that is capable of making games in their favour from any point of time. They have invested in a very calculative manner of investing in promising youngsters and the best experienced campaigners. Their middle order needs to be improved, but from the batting to bowling lineup is a complete and the most brilliant side of IPL.
Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG):
LSG had the same season as they had in their inaugural season by finishing at 4th position in the tally chart. They have focused on getting a well-balanced team of best and also the rising cricketers to make an impactful journey. They have faced issues after KL Rahul injury and failed to get his replacement in the team. This year they should focus on upgrading their top and middle order batting line-up.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH):
SRH is known for its best bowling lineup, and had a decent batting lineup in previous editions but they should focus on their auction strategy this time to give support to star players. They have spent enormous amounts on some players that didn’t perform well throughout the season. They should focus on getting some reliable batting, bowling unit and star all-rounders for perfect balance. As they have the perfect bowler Bhuvnehswar Kumar but lacks support from the other side.
Punjab Kings (PBKS):
Punjab Kings are no doubt the most dangerous team on paper, but failed on the ground. Players were ruled out of games due to injuries and the star players failed to prove their stardom. The management must focus on getting spinners for middle overs and to build a strong bench team to replace players with poor performance. PBKS may also think about their previous decision of having some players in the team that failed very badly to release them or to shuffle them with others.
As the bids get sealed by the bang of the hammer, every team will have their unique and strategized team mix that will carry the hopes of millions of fans and team owners. Also some teams will get the number of fans to become the most followed IPL Team. The 2024 edition will definitely get us some of the best games of the next year’s cricket calendar. As the Auction is all set to be held in the month of december after the auction of WPL 2024 in Mumbai that is also an unique and extravagant tournament to watch. The IPL 2024 Season will be shaped and unfold the hopes after the auctions, and we hope to get every game out of it worth watching and thrilling by performances.
