USD 178,000 for Studies at Berkeley. Serhiy Tokarev and SET University Offer a Full Scholarship
The Tokarev Foundation and SET University are offering a scholarship for the MBA programme at UC Berkeley Haas. Open to all Ukrainian citizens, the scholarship covers the full cost of tuition for the two-year programme and is worth USD 178,000. Applicants are responsible for preparing the required documents and completing the admission process independently. The initiative was announced by Serhiy Tokarev, an investor and founder of the Tokarev Foundation.
What Is Known About the Programme and How to Apply
UC Berkeley Haas ranks among the world’s top ten business schools in rankings published by Bloomberg and the Financial Times. The two-year MBA programme gives students access to the entire Silicon Valley ecosystem, including venture capital networks and technology companies.
“An MBA at one of the best schools in the world is not about a diploma, but about access to technology teams, venture capital and the Silicon Valley community. This can be called the scarcest resource for any modern entrepreneur. To some extent, education is an investment with the longest-term return,” says Serhiy Tokarev.
To apply, candidates must meet the following basic admission requirements set by UC Berkeley Haas:
- a bachelor’s degree and officially translated academic transcripts;
- proof of English proficiency at C1 level (TOEFL or IELTS);
- GMAT or GRE results;
- two letters of recommendation: one from the applicant’s current manager and another from a former manager, mentor or founder;
- motivation essays.
Furthermore, there is an informal requirement of at least two years of full-time work experience. SET University has only one additional requirement. The applicant must have an idea that should influence Ukraine’s technology development in the area of entrepreneurship, investment, education or scientific work.
After enrolment, the scholarship recipient will participate in events organised by SET University and the Tokarev Foundation, publicly share their study experience and speak at conferences.
Applications to the 2026–2027 MBA programme are accepted in two rounds:
- Round 1: by 10 September 2026;
- Round 2: by 7 January 2027.
To apply for the scholarship, applicants must complete an online form on the organisers’ website by 3 September 2026 for Round 1 or 31 December 2026 for Round 2. The SET University team will then provide a complete list of the school’s requirements and guidance on the timeline and admission process. Applicants are responsible for submitting the required documents independently. If an applicant is admitted, the Tokarev Foundation will cover their tuition fees.
