Tech trends to watch in 2022

Generative AI and the “data fabric” are among the major technological trends highlighted by Gartner. The market research firm delivered its list of tech trends to watch at its Gartner IT Symposium / Xpo 2021 Americas.

These tech trends should mark 2022 and the years to come. It includes AI, advanced data analysis and composable architecture.

Tech trends to watch in 2022

1. Generative AI

By 2025, Gartner says that 10% of the future data on the Internet will come from generative AI. The new practices (machines learning, etc.) are called simply  “Realistic and original”. Generative AI can be used for software code creation, drug development, and marketing targeting, among others.

This technology can also be used to develop new applications and can be used to develop new applications and applications can be used to develop new applications. Thus, games in online casinos as BetWinner will become more realistic and closer to the real gambling halls. All the possibilities of Generative AI are still not discovered, but it will be useful in gaming technology as a prime innovation.

2. Cloud-native platforms

A cloud-native application is designed to help companies who use cloud computing services improve their effectiveness. For example, the cloud allows to store the data but also to gather user feedback and quickly develop new applications which would be optimized and connected to each other. The goal is double: to provide users with the applications allowing them to keep their business.

As Gartner says: the platforms created and optimized for the cloud will be a basis for new digital services created by the end of 2025.

3. “Shared” business

The distributed business relies on services, including the cloud, using a decentralized distribution model, rather than centralized. And this is to support hybrid modes of work (home office and work from the office).

In Gartner’s opinion, all companies will use the “distributed” model by the end of 2022. This will accelerate the growth of their income

4. Composable infrastructure

In a composable infrastructure with a physical computer, storage system, and Network Fabric resources are treated as services. The principle is the following: the administrators do not have to manually configure the hardware to support a particular software application.

Instead, the software developer defines the application’s physical infrastructure needs using rules and service profiles. The software then uses API calls to build (or compose) the infrastructure necessary to run it as a virtual machine or container on bare hardware.

In the next few years, the composable infrastructure will be largely used by businesses to allow them to become more competitive.

5. Data Fabric

Data Fabrics are not Data Science platforms, they are tools. On a Data Science platform, algorithms are at the centre of everything and, very often, they are not adapted to business profiles. The Data Fabric is a new type of platform that provides a complete ecosystem for data management, from extraction to processing to consumption of data.

The new trend about Data Fabric is consisting of a “flexible data integration” allowing have more effective data management. In the end, this will allow us to create more valuable products and services.

6. Confidential information

Confidential IT is designed to manage and enhance the level of security and compliance of an organization and its ecosystem. Privacy is becoming more important, so every business will seek ways how to ensure their data privacy.

Gartner expects 60% of large enterprises to use one or more privacy-enhancing techniques by 2025.

7. Decision intelligence

Decision intelligence is about the selection of options. It brings together data science, social science, and management science to help people use data and improve their user experience on the Internet. It’s an important science for AI development, covering the skills needed to lead AI projects responsibly and design goals, metrics, and safety nets for large-scale automation.

One such concept is about improving decision making through automation and advanced data analysis. Gartner predicts that within two years, one-third of large companies will use business intelligence to improve their competitive advantage.

8. Feature AI engineering

Feature engineering consists of preparing raw data for processing by a system or an algorithm. They have their own variables as well as common characteristics. The process distinguishes them and identifies any anomalies. This allows for a more reliable and efficient predictive model.

Also mentioned last year, artificial intelligence (AI) engineering is an integrated approach to making AI models operational. It should make it possible to support the start of production of AI projects which are still blocked at the prototype stage.

9. Hyper-automation

It is an approach that automates all work processes as much as possible. It extends to a range of tools that can be automated.

Gartner is once again promoting this concept of “hyper-automation” which aims to identify, control and automate as many approved business and IT processes as possible.

10. Total experience (TX)

Finally, Gartner anticipates that organizations engaged in the Total Experience. There is a great mix of everything: user experience (UX), customer experience (CX), employee experience (EX). They will be most likely merged into one system to further improve the interaction of people with mobile technologies and sites.
